How Long Does the Coronavirus Live on Different Surfaces

During the COVID-19 pandemic we need to go out sometimes (or often), so we potentially expose ourselves to the virus. Then we come back and we need to know what to do and how… I’ll write tomorrow about it.

You may want to know for how long does the coronavirus live on surfaces. Here is the list of some of the most common:

Food – unlike human, the coronavirus doesn’t like it at all

Water – the same, meaning you will unlikely find in drinking water

Skin – not too much time, fortunately, maybe a few hours. Since we can mostly contact surfaces with our skin, it is essential to wash hands regularly.

In the air – 3 hours

Copper (coins) – 4 hours

Aluminum – 8 hours

Cloths – 12 hours

Cardboard – 24 hours

Stainless steel – 3 days

Wood – 4 days

Paper, glass, ceramics, plastic, metal – 5 days
