For different people chances to die from the coronavirus vary from less than 1% to 25% or even more. It depends most of all on age, chronic deceases and sex. There are several calculators on the Internet that will calculate chances to die based on your personal data. For a substantial number of people chances are around 1%. Many take it lightly thinking: What? Just 1 percent? It’s almost nothing! Well, yes, it’s almost nothing, but remember: it’s about your life (I don’t mention the potential damage for your health even if you successfully recover which is yet to be investigated). So, consider this: would you play a Russian roulette with just one cartridge in a hypothetical revolver drum for 100 slots? Or would you feel safe if your are just one of 100 soldiers, one of which will be shot dead? Perception of risks change as stakes grow and become more tangible.
So, take care of yourself and do that extra effort to stay safe. Life is worth it.
