Selected Songs – A Star Called the Sun by Kino

The song “A Star Called the Sun” was written by Victor Tsoi (1962 – 1990) and was included in the eponymous album of his Kino group in 1989. This is one of the most popular songs of the group, which became a cult Soviet rock band of the 1980s.

Lyrics of the song “A Star Called Sun”

White snow, gray ice

On cracked earth

A patchwork quilt on her

City in a road loop

And the clouds float above the city

Shutting down the heavenly light

And yellow smoke over the city

The city is two thousand years old

Lived under the light

Of a star called Sun

And two thousand years of war

War for no reason

War is the business of the young

anti-wrinkle medicine

Red-red blood

An hour later it’s just earth

After two, there are flowers and grass on it

Three years later she is alive again.

And warmed by rays

Of a star called Sun

And we know it’s always been this way

What fate loves more

Who lives by the laws of others

And who should die young

He does not remember the word “yes” and the word “no”

He does not remember any ranks or names

And able to reach for the stars

Except that this is a dream

And fall singed

A star called the sun
