Long-term Effects of Coronavirus for a Person

If a person from 2019 would walk down today streets and use public transport, he/she would notice little difference. Perhaps some strange people wear face masks under their chin and just a few wear then covering face. The world is under a pandemic? Come on, you can’t be serious! The vast majority of people behave as usual.

Unfortunately, the majority is not much concerned with the situation with coronavirus. But the virus has not gone, moreover, several countries hit records by the number of daily infections these days. Only a few countries have no new infections for several weeks in a row. And many countries where the situation has more or less stabilised, still have significant number of new cases every day. This means that those who neglect recommended ways to prevent contamination put themselves and their close ones at the high infection risk.

COVID-19 in the meantime shows its new dangerous facets:

– Coronavirus hits not only lungs, but also heart, liver, intestines, reins, even brain

– A part of those who successfully went through the infection, even in a light form, continue keeping the disease symptoms months after the recovery

– There are concerns that the decease can cause chronic changes in the human body. Doctors believe that a significant part of those who recovered can keep physical and psychological impairment for life

– It is not defined yet for how long COVID-19 antibodies can stay, so the person would be immune to the second infection, but it can be as little as just several months. So, taking into consideration the long-lasting timespan for the pandemic, recovered people cannot feel safe against the second infection.

Aren’t these reasons enough to wear masks and to follow other recommended guidelines for self-defence?

Take care of yourself and others and stay safe!
